Neil Paris

Neil acts for some of Canada's largest corporations and professional services firms in a broad range of corporate commercial litigation matters. Neil's practice is restricted to commercial litigation, with an emphasis on corporate governance-related matters, securities claims, professional negligence claims, and employment law disputes.  Neil has argued before all levels of Court in Ontario, in the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, and before numerous boards of inquiry and arbitration.  

A large portion of Neil’s practice is devoted to acting for and against accountants and auditors. Neil is fortunate to count among his clients not only “big four’ accounting firms, but also a large number of small and medium-sized firms. For 20 years, Neil has assisted these clients on a wide array of litigation-related matters, ranging from representation before the CPA Ontario on disciplinary matters, to litigating intra and inter-firm disputes among partners, to providing guidance on an assortment of regulatory compliance matters. For many of these clients, Neil operates as an outside but de facto member of their in-house team.
